The Independent Curriculum will provide your school with a structured programme of study from Years 3-9 across all subject areas. It has been designed by independent school teachers for independent school teachers so while the Curriculum covers the requirements of the National Curriculum, Primary Framework, QCA Schemes of Work and the ISEB Syllabus, it recognises the customs, values and common practices in prep and junior schools today. Therefore space has been left for the creative, inspiring learning experience which lies at the heart of an independent school education.

Andrew Hammond, founder of the Independent Curriculum, strongly feels that it is time for a curriculum which prepares the children for life in the modern world. Through its unique design, the Independent Curriculum juxtaposes knowledge strands with cross-curricular learning skills and qualities for life, thus facilitating opportunities for the children to discover, apply and communicate what they have learned at every step.
